Common specifications in China include 8kg/m, 12kg/m, 15kg/m, 18kg/m, 22kg/m, 24kg/m, and 30kg/m. These are mainly used for transportation lines in mines, forest areas, factories, and construction sites, as well as for light locomotive tracks.
Heavy Rails: Steel rails with a weight per meter greater than 30 kg are collectively referred to as heavy rails. The standard types commonly used in Chinese industry include 38kg/m, 43kg/m, and 50kg/m. These are mainly used for tracks in workshop overhead cranes, ground gantry cranes, and other specialized applications.
Crane Rails: Also known as crane tracks, these rails are lower in height with a wider head and thicker web. They are mainly used for track laying of heavy-duty lifting equipment with load capacities between 100 and 1000 tons, such as in steel plants, coking plants, port terminals, and railroad freight yards. In China, the main types are QU70, QU80, QU100, and QU120.
